Dermatopathologist With General Surgical Sign-Out Schaumburg, Il Our laboratory located in Schaumburg, IL (a suburb of Chicago) is looking to add a Dermatopathologist with General Sign-Out to their team of 11+ Pathologists. We are seeking a candidate that is AP/CP and Dermatopathology certified. In addition to core derm specimens, case work in the lab includes cytopathology, genitourinary pathology, GYN, and gastrointestinal pathology. Responsibilities Perform diagnostic interpretation of biopsy and/or cytology material Diagnosis to include gross and microscopic evaluation, dictation, and electronic release of reviewed cases Participate as an active medical member of the department with substantial diagnostic case responsibilities Participate in peer consults, and continuing education Perform quality control and assurance Interact with ordering physicians who request to speak with a pathologist Provide expertise and help to technologists and technicians to resolve problems Participate in departmental professional Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities, e. g. Pathologist Competency Assessment Program Qualifications Doctor of Medicine AP/CP Board Certification Board Certification/Board eligibility in Dermatopathology Active unrestricted licensure for IL Peripheral smears preferred but not required. Experience in a large biopsy or cytology lab preferred Fulfill responsibilities listed in CLIA '88 if required Open to flexible day shift hours Schaumburg, IL offers a great blend of suburban feel and city convenience.
