Home Repair Intake Specialist Construction Warehouse - Austin, TX 78744 Overview Salary Range: $24.00 - $24.00 Hourly Position Type: Part Time Category: Administration Description JOB SUMMARY: The Home Repair Intake Specialist is a part-time position (up to 24 hours per week; M-F) and serves as a point of contact for homeowners seeking assistance. This position reports directly to the Home Repair Program Manager. The Intake Specialist is responsible for screening applicants, determining preliminary eligibility, collecting and verifying required documentation, and ensuring homeowners understand program requirements and next steps. The role plays a key part in supporting program compliance while providing compassionate, respectful service. Employment terms and benefits are outlined in the AHFH employee manual DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct intake interviews to gather client information and assess program eligibility Serve as a contact for clients via phone and/or email inquiries Explain program guidelines, application requirements, and next steps clearly and accurately using culturally appropriate language and trauma informed techniques Collect, review, and verify required documentation (income, residency, identification, etc.) Enter and maintain accurate client data Track application status and follow up with clients regarding missing or incomplete information Coordinate with Home Repair Program Manager to ensure smooth referral and handoff of eligible applicants Maintain confidentiality and comply with data privacy and program regulations Assist with reporting, file audits and other administrative tasks as needed Qualifications MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent 13 years of experience in intake, administrative support, customer service, or social services Professional and empathetic written and verbal communication Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines simultaneously Proficiency in Microsoft Office PREFERRED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience working in nonprofit, housing, healthcare, or social service environments Associate's degree preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
