Clinical Research Center Nurse Reporting directly to the Clinical Research Center Nurse Manager, the Clinical Research Center (CRC) Nurse supports a wide range of clinical research projects/studies involving various study designs and participant procedures. These include multi?center cooperative group and intergroup trials, multi?institutional pharmaceutical trials, single and multi?center investigator-initiated trials, as well as observational, registry and phenotypic studies conducted within the CRC. Responsibilities include: Works with participants across the lifespan, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. Provides direct patient care: Performs nursing assessments, conducts protocol specified procedures, administers study medications, and monitors patient safety during visits. Collects and manages data: Records clinical data, maintains case report forms, and supports data integrity for audits and monitoring visits. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, coordinators, lab staff to support study progress. Educates participants and families: Explains study procedures and provide ongoing support across study timeline. Adheres to ICH-GCP guidelines, professional nursing practice standards, patient-centered care principles and evidence based best practices in all interactions with research participants. Reports adverse drug reactions and other safety concerns to the Principal Investigator and study team. Has a solid understanding of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders. Applies logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Interprets information from caregivers, nurses, or physicians about patient condition, treatment plans, or appropriate activities. Has a solid understanding of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures. Performs other related work as needed. Minimum qualifications include a college or university degree in a related field and knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and two years of experience as a nurse in clinical research coordination/management. Preferred competencies include fundamental working knowledge of clinical research, knowledge of patient care fundamentals, excellent verbal and written communication, ability to read documents or instruments, ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks, ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality, ability to solve problems, ability to adapt to changing working situations, and strong phlebotomy and venous access (IV) skills.
