Supply Chain Planner Reports To: Supply Chain Manager Position Summary: Analyze supply and demand data for SKUs to determine a purchasing plan; Analyzing sales forecasts and evaluating inventory parameters to accurately determine what to order and when; Planning, directing, and coordinating all purchasing activities to ensure timely delivery; Negotiating best pricing and lead times with suppliers; Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers. Demand Planning: Review and analyze forecast related alerts (i.e., under or over forecasted, forecast error, unusual sales, forecast vs model, forecast vs actuals, etc.) and make necessary adjustments to reduce error. Work closely with Sales to acquire top customer forecasts and expected demand projections to align our operational forecast accordingly. Work closely with Product and Market Managers to determine the trajectory of new items and expected customer needs. Review and determine statistical forecasting algorithms to best fit SKUs based on demand patterns and life cycles. Supply Planning / Inventory Management: Analyze and set inventory parameters based on changes in demand and life cycle of SKUs. Review expedites, delays, cancellations and critical understock alerts to evaluate inventory levels and take action on incoming PO's. Review order recommendations daily and adjust and/or generate orders as needed to maintain proper weeks of supply. Proactively provide top suppliers with comprehensive forecasts reflecting our planned future orders. Proactively negotiate pricing, lead times, and MOQs with suppliers based on forecasted order volumes. Review quote opportunities from the Sales team and provide best possible vendor costs. Inform Sales/Product Development if there are any changes to vendor costs. Process change notification requests in response to supplier item discontinuations or product changes. Collaborate with Buyers to monitor, review and track open orders to ensure timely delivery as needed. Education/Technical Certifications: Bachelor's Degree APICS CPIM Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in Purchasing, Demand Planning or Supply Chain Management. Proficient in MS Excel, Teams, Outlook. Excellent communication and organizational skills. High attention to detail. Ability to adapt to changes in scheduling, tasks, and priorities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to use sound judgment, self-motivated and pro-active. Ability to gather & analyze data and to work with figures is a must. Ability to multi-task.
