Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician

ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking OB/GYN Physicians for a locum tenens opportunity in CA, providing coverage in a dedicated Family Birthing Center. The role involves handling deliveries, C-sections, and emergency OB/GYN consultations in the ED. Physicians will work alongside a strong support team including anesthesiologists, pediatricians, and other OB/GYN professionals. Schedule / Availability Requirements Urgent Coverage Dates: October 20 (8 AM) October 24 (8 AM), 2025 Shift Type: 24-hour call coverage Average Callback Hours: 4 6 hours per 24-hour shift Job Details / Responsibilities Setting: Hospital with a Family Birthing Center and its own dedicated OR for C-sections Average Deliveries: deliveries per month (can go up to 40) Duties Include: Vaginal deliveries and C-sections OB/GYN-related ED call coverage Performing all standard OB/GYN procedures (exact procedures TBD) Support Staff: On-call anesthesiologists (after hours/weekends) 3 local OB/GYNs, 1 Family Medicine OB Pediatrician on call Experienced Respiratory Therapists General Surgeons on-site EMR System: Cerner Reason for Need: Physician cancellation and maternity leave Preferred Lodging: GoldMiner s Inn Skills & Qualifications Required Certifications: Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN (within 5 years) Required CA Medical License Required DEA Registration Required during credentialing Proof of malpractice coverage Preferred Clinical Experience: Completion of ACGME/AOA OB/GYN residency Performance of at least 100 gynecologic surgeries in the past 2 years OR recent formal OB/GYN training Credentialing Timeline: Minimum 10 days from completed application Proctoring Requirements: OB: Observation of 2 non-emergency deliveries (1 must be a C-section if applicable) GYN: Observation of 3 surgeries (1 hysteroscopy, 1 laparoscopy, 1 open laparotomy) 3-month retrospective case review minimum Procedure Log: Required for operative privileges (last 24 months or residency/fellowship logs)
