Assistant Vice President & Commercial Appraisal Officer Job Category: Officer The estimated salary for this position is $110,000-$160,000/Annually. Duties and Responsibilities/Results: Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of completed appraisal reports of income-producing properties, including multifamily, office, mixed-use, and retail. Ensure that valuations are reasonably supported, credible, and compliant with federal and state regulations, USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice), FIRREA, bank policies and guidelines, and industry standards. Opine on the overall reasonableness and reliability of the appraisal reports received. Review, analyze, render, and communicate decisions regarding the acceptance of appraisals performed by third-party vendors. Complete internal appraisal assignments for use in loan underwriting decisions. Engage in regular communication with and serve as an advisor to Loan Officers and Executive Management on appraisal and real estate valuation matters. Order appraisals, complete market research projects, and conduct property site inspections as needed. All other duties, as assigned. Required Qualifications: New York State General Appraiser Certification License (Current and in Good Standing) is required. Minimum 10+ years of recent experience appraising and/or reviewing complex multifamily residential, mixed-use, and/or commercial properties in the New York Metropolitan Area. Reviewer must have strong analytical, written, and verbal skills and be proficient with New York Metropolitan Area Real Estate. Knowledgeable, experienced, and familiar with various property types, including office, retail, multifamily, and cooperatives throughout the New York Metropolitan Area. Knowledge of commonly used real estate database sources, including RealQuest, Comps Inc., CoStar, and Multiple Listing Service (MLS), is a must. Good organizational and management skills and ability to work independently. Software proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. Bachelor's degree required. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to solve problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations. Ability to manage time efficiently to meet strict deadlines. MAI or AI-GRS (Review) Designation a plus. A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
