Electronic Assembler / Rework Technician PrideStaff is seeking an Electronic Assembler / Rework Technician, this candidate will be responsible for the high-quality assembly, soldering, and repair of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic sub-assemblies. The ideal candidate possesses strong manual dexterity, a deep understanding of electronic components, and the ability to interpret technical documentation to ensure products meet stringent performance and quality standards. Job Title: Electronic Assembler / Rework Technician Location: Concord, NC Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Department: Manufacturing & Production Reports To: Production Supervisor Key Responsibilities Manual Assembly & Soldering: Perform complex through-hole and surface-mount (SMT) component placement and soldering on PCBs using various hand tools, microscopes, and soldering equipment. Rework and Repair: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform intricate rework and repair on electronic assemblies to correct defects and meet quality specifications. Technical Interpretation: Accurately read, interpret, and work from engineering schematics, assembly drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), and detailed work instructions. Testing and Inspection: Perform visual and functional inspection of PCBs to identify soldering defects, component errors, and ensure compliance with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610). Process Improvement: Identify and report issues related to assembly processes, equipment, or materials to the supervisor to support continuous improvement. Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-safe workstation, strictly adhering to all company safety and quality protocols. Qualifications Soldering Expertise: Proven experience in both through-hole and surface-mount device (SMD/SMT) soldering techniques. Schematic Reading: Demonstrated ability to read and understand electronic schematics, assembly drawings, and component polarity/orientation. Electronic Repair Experience: Experience in identifying faulty components and performing electronic rework/repair on PCBs. Manual Dexterity: Excellent fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination required for working with small components under magnification. Reliability: Ability to adhere strictly to the Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM schedule. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Highly Desirable Skills Current or previous certification to IPC J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies) and/or IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies). Experience operating automated or semi-automated assembly equipment. Familiarity with various electronic testing equipment (e.g., multimeter, oscilloscope). Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $18.00 - $25.00
