Orthopedics - Spine Physician Assistant

An established orthopedic practice in Columbia, SC is seeking a Physician Assistant to join their team. Work alongside a fellowship trained surgeon specializing in spine surgery and general orthopedics. Responsibilities: Full-time permanent position Monday-Friday schedule Mix of clinic/OR/hospital rounding 6 weekends of call per year 90% spine surgery Conduct thorough patient evaluations and assessments Diagnose conditions through physical examinations, medical imaging, and laboratory tests Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients Prescribe medications and recommend non-surgical treatments such as physical therapy or rehabilitation Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed Qualifications: South Carolina State License Knowledge of orthopedic surgery, treatments and terminology Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems Benefits: Competitive base salary Health insurance PTO, sick days, holidays CME allowance Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
