Cushman Boiler Guard (2026) Requirements The Boiler Guardis responsible for monitoring, reporting, and record keeping for state and federal regulations and per companypolicies.This includes audits, inspections, and documentation of boiler and chiller operations.The boiler guardis responsible forproviding expedient service to the facility's equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and quality performance. They are responsible for ensuring the security of the visitors and associates of the Cushman Plant. This position islocatedat the Cushman Plant in Williamston, SC, and reports to theEngineering Services Manager. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The positionis responsible forthe following key equipment: boilers and chillers. Maintain building conditions for the boiler and refrigeration room. This positionrequires knowledge of general building maintenance (minor mechanical and electrical repairs) heat pump units, booster pumps, lift pumps, fire systems, power failure recovery, natural gas systems, steam and condensatesystems. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required equipment service. Assistother associates to perform work asrequired. Informappropriate managementand maintenance associates of potential mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved. Conduct periodic monitoring and patrol of auxiliary facilities on scheduled shift. Serve as a guard to patrol the Cushman Plant during planned and unplanned shutdowns. Adhere to all safety and environmental policies. Associate may also be trained to work in other auxiliary areas at Cushman. Job will require associate to work in high paced work environment. Competencies Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems Able to use hand tools and power tools Able to work well and communicate with others toassistwith repairs and troubleshooting Able to interact with people of varying backgrounds and communicate effectively in person and over the phone Work Environment This joboperatesacross the entire plant to some degree and includes a boiler house. The boiler house is an isolated work area. There is only one boiler guard per shift. This roleroutinely useshand tools, power tools, and powered industrial equipment. Physical Demands This position requires the ability to lift and moveobjectsof 50 pounds and be capable of using motorized equipment (fork trucks, tuggers,etc). The position requires frequent walking, climbing stairs, and using ladders. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position.The positionis made of10-hourshifts on a rotating schedule (6a-4p, 6p-4a). During full plant shutdowns, at minimum 6 days throughout a year, the position is on 12-hour rotating shifts (6a-6p, 6p-6a). Being on call is a requirementofthis position. Travel No travel is expected for this position. Preferred Education and Experience Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or equivalentexperiencein a mechanical or electrical related field Knowledge ofboiler and steam systems operation Additional Eligibility Qualifications Nonerequiredfor this position.
