THE POSITION Are you an experienced maintenance professional looking to put your skills to great use? The Division of Installation Maintenance is seeking a versatile Maintenance Repairman 2 to take ownership of the operational excellence and structural integrity of our mission-critical outreach centers and state-owned quarters. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will maintain, repair, and monitor the electrical and plumbing systems at the Veterans' Outreach Center, East Hanover Readiness Center, and state-owned quarters at Fort Indiantown Gap. Your role will involve diagnosing and repairing complex electrical circuits, panels, and fixtures, as well as maintaining plumbing components such as water heaters, pumps, valves, and restroom fixtures to ensure efficient operation. Additionally, you will perform scheduled preventive inspections and execute general carpentry for facility alterations. You will be responsible for the aesthetic and structural preservation of these buildings, which includes prepping and painting interior and exterior walls, ceilings, floors, and trim. By combining technical troubleshooting with skilled trades work, you will ensure all assigned facilities remain safe, functional, and professionally maintained. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities. Special Requirement: You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License. Additional Requirements: You must maintain favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualifications (not required): Formal training in a skilled building, electrical, or mechanical trade Experience in commercial carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC trades Experience in commercial and structural maintenance of buildings and equipment Experience with 3-phase wiring including emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears, and 3-phase panels Experience with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats, and instantaneous water heaters Experience with the provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Code (UCC) as it relates to repair of buildings Structural experience in the maintenance or repair of buildings Experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades (Examples of qualifying trades include carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, masonry, steamfitting/pipefitting, refrigeration/HVAC, painting, roofing/tinsmith, drywall/plasterer, and automotive mechanic work that includes performing technical duties on motors, engines, and electrical systems.)
