An employer is looking for an experienced Data Engineer for an on-site, contract opportunity in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. The client is a large Bank, and the Data Engineer will be focused on ETL development in support of our complaints management processes on CMT, running on IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) during their integration of a new bank. The work will require the use of DataStage, familiarity with DB2, and some scripting. It will likely involve landing data from Snowflake into DB2. Potentially landing unstructured data to NAS or SharePoint. The candidate will handle the design and construction of scalable management systems, ensure that all data systems meet company requirements and also research new uses for data acquisition. Required to know and understand the ins and outs of the industry such as data mining practices, algorithms and how data can be used. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Design, construct, install, test and maintain data management systems. • Build high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and prototypes. • Ensure that all systems meet the business/company requirements as well as industry practices. • Integrate up-and-coming data management and software engineering technologies into existing data structures. • Develop set processes for data mining, data modeling, and data production. • Create custom software components and analytics applications. • Research new uses for existing data. • Employ an array of technological languages and tools to connect systems together. • Collaborate with members of your team (eg, data architects, the IT team, data scientists) on the project's goals. • Install/update disaster recovery procedures. • Recommend different ways to constantly improve data reliability and quality We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruiting process, please send a request to learn more about how we collect, keep, and process your private information, please review Insight Global's Workforce Privacy Policy: Required Skills & Experience • 5+ years overall experience, including the designing, constructing, installing, testing and maintaining of data management systems • Strong ETL experience, particularly with IBM DataStage • Snowflake experience: able to pull data into PowerBI and curate • Database management systems experience with DB2 • Experience with non-relational and relational databases (SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, MongoDB, etc) • Experience programming and/or architecting a backend language (Java, J2EE) • Comfortable researching/deep diving when answers aren't readily available Nice to Have Skills & Experience • Scripting languages - SAS, Python • Java • Storage/Unstructured Data (NAS, SharePoint, etc.) • Experience in banking or other highly regulated industry Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
