Cost Accountant - Manufacturing

Job Summary: The Cost Accountant will manage cost accounting functions, analyze production costs, and support financial planning and reporting. Ensures accurate cost tracking, inventory valuation, and variance analysis while leveraging SAP for efficient financial operations. Essential Functions: Prepare and analyze product costing, standard costing, and cost estimates. Perform monthly cost closing activities in SAP (Material Ledger, COPA, etc.). Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead) and report findings. Monitor inventory valuation and reconcile inventory accounts. Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives. Maintain cost accounting records and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Review Bills of Materials (BOM) and routing for cost accuracy. Assist in internal and external audits related to costing and inventory. Ensure SAP master data accuracy (material master, cost centers, profit centers). Required Skills & Knowledge: Hands-on experience with SAP (FICO, CO, MM modules preferred). Strong understanding of standard costing and variance analysis. Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial modeling). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Able to work in a collaborative team environment Preferred Skills & Knowledge: Knowledge of ERP system integrations and reporting tools Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3-7 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing. Experience with SAP S/4HANA. Preferred Education & Experience: CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification Experience in manufacturing or production environments. Physical Demands/ Equipment used to perfom job: Must be able to view a computer screen/monitor and type using a computer keyboard Must be able to walk through a manufacturing facility wearing appropriate PPE and surrounded by working machinery
