Anticipated Start Date 5/11/26 Anticipated Hours Per Week 5 hour/week required, 10-15 preferred Schedule: Academic Year Flexible scheduling based on your academic availability and operational need 5 hours a week required, 10-15 hours per week preferred Shifts are scheduled between 7:00AM-4:30PM Monday - Friday, some weekend hours as operationally needed Shifts are a minimum of 3 hours Summer 25-40 hours per week, positions based on availability and operational need, flexible scheduling options may be available, schedule will be set up on hire Shifts are scheduled between 7:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday, some overtime may be available on weekends Seasonal: This position is considered seasonal during the summer months in regards to the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Hours worked may exceed 30 hours/week during the summer months Salary/Wage Range: Hourly $15.00 to $15.00 Number Of Positions 1 Position Summary/Job Duties: The Student Construction & Trades Technician provides daily support to the full-time trades staff including carpenters, electricians, and painters. Construction & Trades Technicians will participate in hands on and administrative work, assist with small to large remodeling projects, perform seasonal project work, assist in the prepping of surfaces for paint to be applied, and assist with carpentry and electrician projects. Promote a positive work environment by role modeling appropriate work behavior, strong work ethic, good decision making, critical thinking and a customer service attitude. Assist University Housing Facilities staff with coordinating installations and moving services of small to large remodeling projects, including furniture, carpet, painting, and various outside vendors and contractors Assist in managing small projects, which may include meeting with staff to determine needs, researching products/solutions, estimating budgets, selecting finishes, working with vendors, and coordinating installation of project Preparation of surfaces (walls, ceiling, doors, floors etc.) for painting; scraping, sanding, cleaning of cabinets, doors, door frames, window sashes, window casings, wood shelves, handrails, plaster walls and ceiling; moving stacking and protection of furniture as needed Occasionally assist the Facilities staff with administrative tasks relating to work orders, entering data, and various short and long-term projects In the summer, communicating with University Housing staff on project activities that will affect groups along with assisting in the creation of project work schedules around summer activities Be professional and helpful at all times, communicate clearly and accurately, report building issues, follow-up with customers/staff as needed Other duties as assigned Summer Specific Duties Include: Assist with renovations and construction projects, including work schedules and plan occupied/unoccupied spaces to prep for Fall Assist with completing work in unoccupied spaces such as, painting, replacing fixtures, and assisting with turnovers in University Housing Qualifications: Must be able to regularly lift objects weighing approximately 50 lbs.
