About the Role: As a Medication Aide at Bibb Medical Center's Nursing Home (BMC), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to assist nursing staff in managing medication schedules and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. You will be instrumental in monitoring residents for any side effects or adverse reactions, thereby contributing to their overall well-being. This position requires a keen attention to detail and strong communication skills to effectively relay important information to both residents and healthcare providers. Ultimately, your efforts will directly impact the quality of care that residents receive, making you an essential part of the healthcare team. Full-time and part-time positions available. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a state-approved medication aide training program. Current certification as a Medication Aide. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in medication administration. Certification in CPR and First Aid. Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems. Responsibilities: Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with established protocols. Monitor residents for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to nursing staff. Maintain accurate records of medication administration and residents responses. Assist in the preparation and organization of medication supplies and ensure proper storage. Communicate effectively with residents and their families regarding medication instructions and health concerns.
