Location:Youngsville, NC Job Summary Develops and implements procurement plans and strategies to support the organization's forecasted commodity needs, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Analyzes foreign and domestic market trends to negotiate optimal pricing and terms for commodity purchase agreements. Coordinates the purchase of commodities in alignment with approved buying programs, using trade judgment and adhering to established procurement policies. Key Responsibilities Assesses procurement needs and evaluates potential suppliers, ensuring that purchasing decisions align with organizational goals and deliver optimal value. Assists in the management of strategic sourcing initiatives, ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement processes across multiple categories. Coaches junior buyers and procurement team members, offering guidance and support on best practices, supplier negotiations, and market analysis. Conducts more complex supplier evaluations and negotiations, ensuring that contracts are in place for favorable terms and competitive pricing. Confers with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and engineering, to ensure procurement strategies align with company-wide objectives. Designs systems to improve procurement efficiency and supplier relationship management, ensuring smooth operations across the supply chain. Support forecasting of procurement needs and market trends, using data analysis to predict future demands and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly. Helps establish and implement long-term procurement strategies, collaborating with leadership to align goals with broader organizational objectives. Implements processes to improve procurement workflows and ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and industry standards.
