About the Position The BIM/GIS Coordinator III - Utilities Coordinator (VDC) plays a critical role in supporting utility infrastructure coordination, BIM compliance, GIS integration, and as-built data management across Bond-funded projects. This position works closely with the BIM Manager and District stakeholders to ensure accurate documentation, QA/QC oversight, and integration of underground utilities into the company's systems. Key Responsibilities Include:Utility & As-Built Data Management Monitor and reconcile design, construction, and facilities submittal data related to underground utilities Manage and maintain CAD/BIM as-built drawings and underground utilities CAD databases Develop record utility maps for Bond-impacted facilities and infrastructure Support operations closeout reviews for current Bond projects CMMS & GIS Integration Review and upload equipment data from as-builts into CMMS Upload and validate GIS spatial data (building spaces, landscape, infrastructure, security features) Review utilities and BIM deliverables for ArcGIS Online utility infrastructure integration Standards & Compliance Conduct BuildLACCD CADD standards compliance reviews Ensure conformance with ASCE 38-02 Underground Utility Standards Perform spatial reporting in plan and tabular formats Review underground utilities BIM submittals for compliance Field Verification & Data Collection (Approx. 30%) Conduct site visits across all District campuses Perform LIDAR scanning, GPR surveying, GPS surveying, and field photography Walk active construction sites to verify underground utility installations Collect and integrate field data into the utility database Systems & Collaboration Support BIM submittal tracking and coordination between project teams Provide technical support using Revit, AutoCAD, SharePoint, ESRI platforms, and document control systems Collaborate with design and construction teams to develop BIM and GIS scopes of service Maintain communication with field and project teams on active project status Work Allocation:Approximately 70% office/computer-based work and 30% field site visits (may vary depending on project activity). Requirements Minimum 5 years of recent experience in Architecture or Construction Management with a focus on utilities Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or closely related field Additional qualifying experience may substitute for education (year-for-year basis) Advanced knowledge of GIS principles, mapping techniques, and spatial data management Demonstrated modeling and coordination experience in: AutoCAD Revit AutoCAD Map 3D Experience managing data within: SharePoint BIM 360 Docs Bluebeam Hands-on experience with: LIDAR scanning GPR surveying GPS surveying Field photography documentation Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with field construction teams Ability to travel to all District project sites as required Experience working directly with design and construction teams Strong knowledge of BIM and utility infrastructure workflows Experience with: Civil 3D ArcGIS Data Collector Advanced proficiency with Autodesk tools and applications Experience supporting enterprise GIS/utility database integration Benefits Competitive salary of $100,000-105,000 Long-term capital program exposure Involvement in large-scale infrastructure modernization Integration of BIM, GIS, and advanced field technologies Opportunity to work across multiple active campus construction projects Professional growth within a digitally progressive construction environment
