UPDATED RESUME MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH APPLICATION Location: Richard A Middleton Education Center Work Schedule: 12 Months Work Type: Regular Full-Time Exempt: Yes Pay Grade: T6 REASONS TO JOIN NEISD Click here to view compensation information for Professional Technology Support jobs IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING CALCULATION OF PAY: The annual pay for this position is pro-rated based on the effective date of the assignment Please click here for further explanation/example EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Bachelor's Degree in information technology related field from an accredited four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience Two years experience in software development/ report writing Experience using Structured Query Language (SQL), Crystal Reports or other report writing software Experience with Power BI or other visual analytics platforms a plus Knowledge of Secure File Transfer Process a plus High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency. PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY : Provides development, maintenance, and support of current student systems. Communicates with various outside agencies and internal departments and campuses to determine and define District needs. With minimum supervision, analyzes, designs, develops, and supports information objects to satisfy determined requirements. Assists in the creation of documentation and training for the various applications. Works with management in defining short and long-range plans and setting priorities for projects. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Analyzes, designs, develops, and supports of information objects including reports and dashboards. 2. Develops, tests, and validates SQL queries and stored procedures. 3. Maintains and enhances existing systems. 4. Conducts training programs for users as needed. 5. Develops and maintains documentation. 6. Makes independent objective decisions without procrastination based on adequate information and research. 7. Attempts innovative and creative approaches to problem solving. 8. Reviews existing computer programs and recommends refinements, improvements, and enhancements. 9. Works with users to determine the needs and requirements for new applications. 10. Evaluates state and local reporting requirements and ensures that mandated information is supplied in a correct and proper format - this involves comprehending oral and written communications from various outside agencies and internal departments. 11. Schedules activities effectively and secures resources needed to accomplish goals. 12. Evaluates the school District environment to determine opportunities for streamlining procedures, which would result in a more effective utilization of District personnel. 13. Writes detailed instructions for documentation staff to add to the user manuals. 14. Tests programs written by personnel assigned to project or self. 15. Reads and interprets technical material. 16. Works under minimum supervision. 17. Communicates effectively with staff members to maintain efficient software designs and standards. 18. Maintains confidentiality of information. 19. Reports to work on time every day. 20. Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming • Proficiency in developing SAP Crystal Reports or other reporting software • Proficiency in the Structured Query Language (SQL) • Strong project management skills with effective results within an information systems environment • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
