Job Details Location: Hermitage, Tennessee (Nashville area) - zip code 37076 Setting: On-site, Level 3 Trauma Center, 50-bed hospital Assignment Type: Locum tenens / travel physician opportunity Start Date: January 4, 2026 End Date: March 29, 2026 (potential to extend 6-9 months) Shifts: 8-hour ED shifts across days/evenings/nights (6a-2p, 9a-6p, 1p-10p, 3p-11p, 4p-10p, 9p-6a) Hours per Week: 40 Patient Volume: Average 130 patients/day (~1.95 patients/hour) Support: 32 hours of APP coverage daily and a fully staffed ED RN team Estimated Weekly Salary: $6,980-$8,270/week Job Requirements / Qualifications Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM required) Active, unrestricted medical license required (Tennessee license preferred; out-of-state licensure considered if credentials process allows) Minimum of 3 years of emergency medicine experience strongly preferred Current ACLS and ATLS certifications required Ability to start as soon as credentialed for the locum tenens assignment Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality direct patient care in a busy emergency department as an Emergency Physician Evaluate and manage a diverse patient population including trauma, cardiac, abdominal pain, altered mental status, and acute medical conditions Perform emergency procedures and interventions in accordance with ACLS/ATLS and ED protocols Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including APPs, nurses, and consultants to optimize patient flow and outcomes Utilize telemedicine resources when appropriate (Tele-Psych, Tele-Neurology) to support patient care Participate in a site orientation on the first day of assignment No additional call required - standard ED shift coverage only Why This Emergency Medicine Job Locum tenens position ideal for Emergency Physicians seeking flexibility and varied clinical experience Strong ED support with daily APP coverage and experienced RN staff Work in a Level 3 trauma center near Nashville - great access to cultural and recreational activities Apply now for this locum tenens Emergency Medicine Physician job in Hermitage, TN.
