In this rewarding role, you will assist prospective and current apprentices through the application, registration, and training process, helping them build confidence, navigate program requirements, and achieve their career goals. Working closely with the Apprenticeship Advisor, you will support apprentices, employers, and community partners by providing guidance, resources, and hands-on assistance at events, trainings, and outreach initiatives. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with people, organizing information, and making a meaningful impact on workforce development. This is a part-time wage position located in Brunswick, VA. This position averages 29 hours per week, and Health benefits and paid leave are NOT available. Some of the duties include, but are not limited to: Assists prospective apprentices through the application and registration process Serves as a point of contact for apprentice and student inquiries across multiple communication channels Provides accurate, timely, and high-quality support to apprentices to ensure a smooth and positive entry into the program Manages program logistics, including registration workflows and the ordering, distribution, and tracking of instructional materials Maintains accurate and compliant program, student, and company records across systems, including PeopleSoft, WES, Salesforce, Navigate, and spreadsheets Independently manages databases and files, ensuring record keeping is accurate and compliant with policies, procedures, and audit standards Collaborates with community organizations and business partners during outreach events to promote educational pathways and assess candidate interest Supports enrollment growth by assisting the Apprenticeship Advisor with recruiting students and industry partners for the program Assists with the creation and distribution of marketing materials, including digital newsletters, brochures, and flyers Ensures training events function effectively and efficiently by coordinating on-site setup and breakdown, directing participants, and addressing immediate logistical needs May help direct activities and assignments for volunteer groups supporting program events or outreach Interprets and applies state and federal apprenticeship standards to monitor apprentice progress and work hours, ensuring program compliance Utilizes basic familiarity with state and federal financial aid information to support apprentices and connect them with the appropriate personnel May assist with training and supporting new or temporary staff Works independently while complying with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Works flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, to accommodate student schedules Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides), with the ability to learn new database and student information systems Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain processes clearly and professionally. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping and data entry.
