Part-Time Nursing Clinical Support Faculty (480-600 hours annually) Carroll University is seeking a highly motivated and clinically experienced nurse to join our nursing faculty team as a part-time clinical instructor. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and the ability to provide high-quality clinical education and mentorship to nursing students in a dynamic, clinical practice environment. As a part-time clinical support faculty member, you will play an essential role in supporting the development of nursing students clinical skills and knowledge. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Instruction: Teach and supervise nursing students in clinical and laboratory/simulation settings guiding them in the application of nursing theory to practice or lab simulation settingsAssessment & Evaluation: Evaluate students' clinical performance and provide constructive feedback to help students grow in their clinical practice.Collaboration: Work closely with full-time faculty and clinical staff to ensure a cohesive and integrated learning experience for students.Curriculum Support: Contribute to the development and updating of the nursing programs clinical curriculum and teaching materials as needed.Adherence to Standards: Ensure compliance with the accreditation requirements, nursing standards, and institutional policies during clinical education activities.Professional Development: Stay current with nursing practice and educational trends by participating in professional development opportunities. Qualifications: Education: Minimum of a masters in nursing (MSN) or higherCurrent, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in (State/Region). Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with expertise in medical surgical nursing.Previous teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required. Skills & Competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to effectively teach and evaluate students in clinical settings, lab and simulation settings.Knowledge of current trends in nursing education and practice.Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and clinical partners.Commitment to the development of nursing students and the promotion of a positive learning environment. Physical Requirements: Ability to move or lift equipment and assist students in a clinical environment.Ability to work long hours standing or moving in a clinical setting. Additional Information: The assignment depends on the clinical schedule and student needs.Compensation is competitive and based on experience.Carroll University offers professional development support, including access to faculty development resources and workshops. The Program: The Nursing Department is approved by the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing and accredited by CCNE. Since 2010, Carroll nursing graduates have had an above average NCLEX RN pass rate of 95%-100%. The program utilizes a state of the art, 15,000 square foot, nursing simulation laboratory in the newly constructed Douglas N. and Nancy J. Hastad Hall. The Department of Nursing has a strong record of private foundation support and federal grant funding through Human Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Health and Human Services (HHS). Current practicum affiliations include health systems in southeastern Wisconsin and community health agencies. The College: The College of Health Sciences includes the Department of Health and Medicine including Occupational Therapy and Public Health, Department of Human Movement Sciences, Department of Nursing, and Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. The college faculty are recipients of federal and private foundation grant awards. The College has a strong staff of support personnel and laboratory coordinators.
