Company Mission Statement Riceland, a farmer owned cooperative, helps farmers feed the world, sustainably. Job Description The Shift supervisor supervises the employees assigned to his crew. The incumbent must have a good understanding of the equipment, the procedure, the plant policies, and the production standards in his/her area of production. The Shift Supervisor must also know how to instruct his/her employees in the performance of their duties to meet quality standards and production objectives. Job Duties 1. Keep the shift crew informed of the production, schedule, the proper handling of the equipment and the need to be alert to production problems. 2. Assign shift crews to task required to meet production objectives and to reassign shift crew members to other tasks when the machinery is shut down for repair. 3. Keep informed of all accidents to member of the crew and fill out injury report. 4. Record plant downtime or lost time and record product losses due to any of several production causes. 5. Keep constantly alert to major emergencies and security problems and to report violations and problems to the proper authorities. Education Requirements • High School Diploma • Supervisory Training • Three to five years of similar or related work experience preferred.
