Management Level: Class 6 Summary of the Purpose and Objective The Palletizer ensures all boxes/packages are properly dated, taped, and product stacked on palletizer per customer specifications. The Palletizer may also be responsible to keep lines stocked, perform case counts, and enter data into production system. ATTN Team Members: This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner. Description of Primary Duties and Responsibilities Keep all lines stocked with packaging material needed for stacking/shipping pallets. Will maintain tape machines by replacing tape roles as needed. Keep area clean and organized, especially after changeovers and shutdowns. Maintain accurate case counts. Complete daily production forms and any other required documentation. Complete hourly case counts by line and product code Properly label pallets with barcodes and enter pallet case counts and time data into inventory system. May stack pallets based on customer specifications. Review and compare total production forms with barcode inventory system. May be required to rotate positions with runner, stacker, and/or other positions based on production needs. Must communicate any issues/concerns to direct lead, supervisor, and/or manager in timely manner. Responsible for notifying Supervisor and/or QA of contamination concerns. Responsible for monitoring and reporting any wear and tear on equipment in timely manner. Responsible for following company policies/procedures written or verbal. Performs all other tasks as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required for the Position Must be able to perform the Palletizer Training Checklist job tasks within expected training period. Must be able to follow direction and stay on task with little to no supervision. Must be able to effectively communicate to colleagues and management. Must be able to safety operate pallet jack, hand jack, and other industrial equipment. Must be able to read and understand the Palletizer SOP's, manuals, and related documentation as written. Must be able to work weekends as needed. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Team Member will flex the wrists and hands, Team Member will walk, bend, stand, twist, push/pull, and lift on regular basis. Must be willing and able to lift up to 35-50 lbs. on a frequent basis. Must be willing and able to move heavy objects (100 lbs.) with mechanical device. Team Member will Must stand and/or walk on cement floors for duration of shift. Training (Equipment & Methods) Job specific training will be conducted by the designated Trainer(s), managers/supervisors, colleagues, and knowledge experts. Required training may include, but is not limited to, lockout-tagout, scissor lift, fall protection, chemical training, confined spaces (consists of pulmonary function testing), ongoing quality, safety and departmental training. Team members will be evaluated on job performance in accordance with the Training Program SOP. SPC training conducted by designated trainer. Documentation and agenda kept by Quality Control. Monthly training of a Safety topic and a GMP topic will be conducted by their immediate supervisor from information provided by the Safety Director and QA Manager. Job Safety Analysis Personal Protective Equipment: smock, hair net, ear plugs, slip resistant shoes and safety glasses, gloves, boots, aprons. Will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, known allergens such as soy, wheat, and milk; and extreme weather conditions. Will be occasionally exposed to high precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration. Will be regularly exposed to moving equipment and mechanical parts. Noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires hearing protection. Will consistently be walking/standing on concrete floors and exposed to wet/slippery surfaces for long/extended periods of time. Selection Criteria Internal Openings for this position will be posted for three (3) working days (Tues-Thurs) utilizing Workday system for application process. Openings for this position will be filled by the most qualified, eligible bidder per Tyson's Job Bidding Policy. Bidding disqualifiers include having: More than four (4) attendance points Active written warning within the last three (3) months Written warning with suspension within the last six (6) months Less than six months in current position (unless promotional position). TM WILL HAVE A FIVE (5) DAY TRIAL PERIOD IN POSITION; after the five-day period, TM must remain in position, bid on promotional position (not guaranteed), or demote by completing a Status Change Form, notifying HR, and being transferred to any available GPW position. If self-demote, TM will be placed on a six (6) month "freeze" in which he/she cannot bid on any other positions. This applies as soon as TM accepts position in WD. If you do not want position once it is offered, please DECLINE position in WD. Team Members hired into part time positions are not eligible to bid on promotional positions and/or transfers for a period of 6 months.
