Job Title: Business Intelligence Developer FLSA Status: Exempt Department: Information Technology Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday General Job Summary: Stock Yards Bank & Trust is seeking a business-focused and detail-oriented BI Developer to enhance the bank's analytics capabilities through intuitive, scalable reporting solutions. This role is responsible for designing and maintaining dashboards, semantic layers, and visualizations that transform curated data into actionable insights. This position centers on enabling decision-making through visual storytelling, user experience optimization, and analytics adoption. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with BI platforms, SQL, and data visualization best practices, and a passion for making data accessible and impactful across the organization. This is an onsite position with no relocation assistance provided. Organizational Duties and Responsibilities: Supports the mission, vision and philosophy of the bank. Complies willingly with all organizational policies and procedures. Supports all functions that maintain compliance with regulatory agencies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Sigma, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms Collaborate with Data Engineers to ensure BI solutions are built on well-modeled, performant datasets Manage the BI platform's folder structure, user roles, and collaboration workflows to ensure organized, secure, and scalable reporting Ensure visualizations adhere to established data quality, security, and compliance standards Translate business requirements into technical specifications and BI solutions that support strategic goals Develop and maintain semantic layers, calculated fields, and reusable components to support scalable reporting Conduct user training and onboarding for BI tools and dashboards Monitor dashboard performance and usage to optimize user experience and adoption Document BI solutions, data definitions, and dashboard logic for transparency and maintainability Stay current with BI trends and best practices to continuously improve reporting capabilities Working Conditions: Works in office with occasional travel to bank locations, training seminars and conferences Minimum Job Requirements:Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field Experience: 3-5+ years of experience working in a data analytics role 3+ years building and maintaining dashboards and semantic layers focused on business KPIs and decision support Financial services background is a plus, especially in environments requiring NPPI protection and regulatory compliance Track record of success in analyzing complex datasets, identifying trends, and translating data into business narratives and visual insights Proven ability to present technical insights to non-technical stakeholders and executives, leading to increased analytics adoption and data-driven decision-making Experience creating content in visualization solutions (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Sigma, MicroStrategy) Proficient in writing advanced SQL for complex data exploration and transformation Experience with various database architectures (e.g. SQL Server, Snowflake, Databricks) Specific Skills: Motivated, self-starter Track record of working autonomously with organizational and time management skills Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and meeting deadlines Enjoy supporting team members by sharing technical knowledge and helping solve problems Ability to develop and follow documented policies and procedures to ensure proper compliance Strong technical acumen and decision-making skills Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues efficiently Exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor Ability to work flexible work schedules, after-hours as required Professional verbal and written communication skills Ability to use the Microsoft Office M365 suite of products Physical requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
