SUMMARY As a Comprehensive Solutions Application Engineer, you will provide tailored technical support to meet specific client needs, focusing on complex mechanical, controls and automation, installation contracting, and energy service projects. You will bridge the gap between sales and engineering by evaluating project requirements, developing cost models, and ensuring technical feasibility for large-scale projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned. Review of customer specifications, all technical documents and product requirements. Identify and define a preliminary scope of work for a complete solution that fits the customer's specifications. Flag any discrepancies or potential cost/scope issues. Perform take-offs directly from plans and schedules and validate quantities. Perform preliminary quote evaluations of all the quotations received and make technical recommendations to the design and the vendor choices. Develop relationships with represented manufacturers, maintain competitive advantage and stay abreast of industry trends. Prepares submittal and pricing breakdown while evaluating equipment savings. Develop final submittals as required for timely production release and delivery of equipment. Following the release of equipment and submittal approval, document work by maintaining files for each job including, but not limited to, internal and external customer correspondence to mitigate project risk. Responsible for timely completion of projects and maintaining owner, engineer or contractor satisfaction. Simultaneously handles a large and diverse number of projects and issues with tact, cooperation and persistence. Coordinate service and technical support throughout the warranty period. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS include the following: A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, construction, or a related field. Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating roles preferred. An equivalent combination of education and work experience. Familiarity with HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls preferred. Must have basic PC experience in Windows environment, working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Web-enabled applications and intermediate level experience with Excel. Must possess excellent math aptitude, superior follow-up skills and ability to work under pressure. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.
