What is the role? The Assistant Branch Manager is a relationship-driven frontline leader, responsible for partnering with the Branch Manager to maintain a positive, highly motivated, and well-trained branch that provides superior member service and promotes member financial success. What will be expected of me?Integrates the Westerra Experience (WX) into the daily branch activities, focusing on building relationships, driving sales, and creating an exceptional experience for both members and employees Drives a high-performance culture, by helping to create and execute branch and role specific goals tied to data insights, budget, and strategic objectives Consistently meets and/or exceeds monthly sales goals while maintaining stellar service and member experience levels Responsible for driving engagement and retention of staff Actively observes staff interactions with Members, and coaches them on Member Service behaviors and recognizing opportunities to help the Member succeed financially Ensures branch operations run efficiently by overseeing and monitoring scheduling, security, cash and vault management, expenses and general ledgers, equipment, adherence to policies and procedures, service quality, and audits Maintains knowledge of products and services and educates members and employees on emerging technology and digital solutions such as mobile, online, ATM and other offerings As needed, will assist members with transactional needs according to established processes and service standards, including answering member inquiries and issue resolution Represents Westerra at business development & community events Consistently demonstrates the Westerra Way Experience and complies with all policies, procedures and Federal and State laws and regulations Maintains knowledge of industry trends and ensures credit union compliance Maintains high-level of confidentiality Obtains NMLS (National Mortgage Licensing System) registration within 30 days of hire Obtains and maintains notary public certification within six months of employment (if not already certified) to perform notarial acts such as verifying signatures, administering oaths, and certifying documents Other duties as assigned Will I have Direct Reports? No What am I bringing?Experience/Education:External Candidates:4+ years of relevant work experience 1 year retail branch experience within a financial institution 1 year supervisor experience preferred 1 year consumer lending experience preferred Internal Candidates:1+ year serving in an FSR or similar role Demonstrated skills and abilities listed Skills and Abilities:Ability to understand and respond to member needs, as well as consistently make recommendations to members on Westerra products that will fit their financial needs/goals/values Ability to drive sales through a consultative approach Ability to coach and train team members Strong understanding of branch operations, processes, and procedures. Can navigate with ease and efficiency through key Westerra Systems/Sites Strong verbal and interpersonal communication Proven attention to detail with minimal mistakes Demonstration of problem-solving skills Accountable for completion of assigned processes or programs Acts autonomously on most decisions, but may require guidance on more complex judgments Advanced understanding of business line and a growing understanding of the overall organization and the competitive environment Able to influence timelines, expectations, and proactively negotiates with department What is the work environment like, and are there physical requirements for this role?Mon-Fri: On location in the branch (Saturdays on rotation) Occasionally: Off-site at business development or community events; may require weekend and/or evening shifts offset by branch schedule Office environment Works primarily at a standing desk Ability to lift 25 pounds Salary: in addition to the starting hourly rate of $24 - $33, this role is also eligible for Westerra's self-funding reward plan. This plan pays out a cash incentive annually if Westerra hits specific criteria tied to financial goals and this role has a direct impact on the outcome of those results!
