Job Full Description Packaging Team Lead - Job Description Reports To: Production Supervisor Location: Vineland, NJ Job Summary The Packaging Team Lead supports the Production Supervisor in ensuring all packaging operations meet safety, quality, efficiency, and waste-reduction targets. This role oversees packaging employees, coordinates production activities, and maintains smooth and compliant line operations during the shift. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Monitor and control all Critical Control Points (CCPs) in accordance with established procedures. Coordinate line start-ups, changeovers, and adjustments to maintain optimal production flow. Quickly identify and communicate deviations from standard procedures to the supervisor. Ensure continuous packaging line performance with an emphasis on efficiency, quality, and product safety. Address and minimize equipment stoppages; ensure lockout procedures are followed during downtime. Maintain proper supply levels of raw materials, components, and packaging items. Team Management Ensure appropriate staffing levels at start-up and throughout the shift; notify supervisor of shortages or overstaffing. Oversee all packaging employee activities, including breaks and task assignments. Verify all employees are adequately trained for assigned duties. Foster a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Documentation & Communication Complete all required daily production paperwork accurately. Communicate operational or mechanical issues to the supervisor and maintenance team promptly. Collaborate with maintenance and quality departments to meet production targets. Other Duties Perform all tasks associated with the role and support continuous improvement initiatives as needed. Qualifications Interpersonal Skills Strong communication and leadership abilities. Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of directing staff. Technical Skills Knowledge of GMPs and food safety requirements. Strong understanding of packaging processes and equipment. Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Minitab and SAP preferred. Basic math skills. Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly. Experience Minimum 2 years in the food industry.
