Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) - Full-Time School-Based OpportunityLocation: Lakewood, WA Schedule: Monday - Friday | School Hours | Follows School Calendar Setting: Public School District Employment Type: W-2 Compensation: $40-$42/hr Position Summary: The Columbus Organization is seeking a dedicated School Based Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team in the Lakewood, WA area. This is an exciting school-based opportunity to work with students across a range of grade levels, providing evaluations, treatments, and support under the direction of the OT as well as in accordance with physician orders and within all state, federal, and professional practice guidelines. The therapist will also play an integral role in interdisciplinary collaboration, IEP development, and parent communication to help students achieve their functional and educational goals. Key Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive evaluations for students under supervision of the Occupational Therapist Participate in the development and implement individualized treatment plans to meet each student's goals Support and enhance students' functional independence through use of occupational therapy procedures (e.g., ADL training, therapeutic exercise, sensory-motor strategies) Collaborate with teachers, staff, and other professionals to provide coordinated services Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting and documentation Maintain accurate, timely documentation and complete billing as required by school and payer guidelines Educate and involve families and caregivers in student care plans and home-based strategies Ensure therapy environments are safe, clean, and conducive to student success Perform additional duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Appropriate degree in Occupational Therapy Current and active COTA license One (1) year of experience as a practicing OT in a healthcare or educational setting preferred Why Join The Columbus Organization?
