EH&S provides UC Davis Health with accident prevention, industrial hygiene, environmental protection, occupational safety, and exposure control expertise. Under general direction of EH&S Leadership, provide overall support for UCDH Environmental Health & Safety Programs, including: Hazardous Materials Programs and Waste Management Programs within both the UC Davis Health Clinical Enterprise and School of Health locations on the Sacramento Campus. Primary responsibilities include data entry for Hazardous Materials Business Plans and waste management; including Hazardous, medical, universal and solid waste for various locations within UC Davis Health, including off-site clinic locations. Apply By Date: 3/12/26 by 11:59pm Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program Bachelor's Degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, environmental toxicology, or similar relevant fields and/or combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience and working knowledge of hazardous materials, chemicals, hazardous waste management, and associated regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge / understanding of chemistry, laboratory setting, hazardous materials/waste regulations and related regulations Knowledge of environmental program development and regulatory compliance. Demonstrated organizational skills to plan, organize, and prioritize work. Demonstrated skills in following basic instructions and providing input and feedback as require. Communication (oral, written, presentation, documentation) and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, regulators, and convey technical information in lay terms. Knowledge of Microsoft program suite such as; Word, Excel, Power Point and Teams. Preferred Qualifications Professional certification as a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM). Advanced degree in relevant field, such as environmental programs or chemistry. Relevant experience working in an academic or healthcare setting. Advanced knowledge/understanding of hazardous waste regulations, Hazardous Materials Business Plans (HMBP), California Environmental Reporting System (CERS), fire codes, and medical waste regulations. Advanced level verbal and written communication skills. Advanced interpersonal skills.
