Special Heavy Motor Equipment Operator

Labor Service Position This is a Labor Service position. Brief Job Description Under general supervision, operates and has responsibility for one of a wide variety of special heavy motor equipment requiring a Commercial Driver's License & a Hoisting License and/or requiring unusual skill. Responsibilities May supervise a group of equipment operators or laborers; or may be responsible for the maintenance and care of a small number of pieces of equipment. Performs related duties as required. Required to work any emergency as directed by the Chief of Streets or designee. Minimum Entrance Qualifications Must possess any and all licenses required by the Mass. Dept. of Public Safety to operate any special heavy motor equipment, including a valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and a Hoisting License. Must have the ability to exercise good judgment and be able to focus on detail as required by the job. Applicants must be available to work any assigned shift, in any assigned location.
