Job Description

WEEKENDS ONLY Essential Responsibilities: Examines patient, takes medical history, records results, and makes preliminary diagnosis or decides on follow-up procedures. Performs therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, suturing and wound care, and managing infection. Exercises professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment. Develops and implements patient care plans, instructs and counsels patients, and records progress. Prescribes medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations. Provides general health education regarding matters such as proper diet, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance. Perform other duties as assigned Additional Responsibilities: Qualifications: Education/Experience: Physician's Assistant Master's degree from an accredited PA program plus two years of clinical training following completion of PA program. State accreditation based on certifying PANCE exam and State of Michigan Licensure. Continued employment requires 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years and passing a recertification examination every six years. Or Nurse Practitioner Master' of Nursing (NP) or Doctor of Nursing (DNP) American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) State Licensure - NPs must obtain a state-specific Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license to practice. Continued employment requires 100 hours of continuing medical education every five years Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Must demonstrate skills necessary to provide leadership and direction to staff and the population served Good writing and communication skills Computer Skills: Experience with medical records systems Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications Certificates and Licenses: Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed Valid Michigan Chauffeur License and approved by The Salvation Army MVR
