Human Resources Specialist Supervisor: Director of Human Resources Job Goals: To assist in the planning and implementation of programs related to the recruitment, placement, certification, and retention of employees. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in education. Minimum of five (5) years school administrative experience. Valid Alabama certification in administration/supervision. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills. Ability to identify and solve problems as a productive team member. Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities. Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board or state law may require. Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals and priorities. Supports the Human Resources department in the implementation of district hiring procedures of certified and classified staff. Screens potential candidates to ensure equitable distribution of certified staff across the district. Utilizes data to determine district hiring needs and assists in organizing district hiring efforts. Assists in analyzing relevant talent data regarding hiring practices, turnover, engagement, and other significant levers in improving workforce retention. Collaborates with appropriate departments in relation to talent management data analysis, visualization, application, and interpretation. Develops, monitors, analyzes, and produces reports as required. Assists in the preparation of executive-level presentation and status updates. Identifies and reports gaps in HR data collection methodologies and works collectively with other departments as assigned to implement process improvements and fill identified gaps. Performs additional data analyses as requested. Communicates progress and results of the hiring/ recruiting efforts to the appropriate district staff and school-based personnel. Works collaboratively with HR Department staff to ensure performance outcomes are achieved within individual schools as well as within the overall school system. Compiles data from a wide variety of sources for the purpose of analyzing issues, ensuring compliance with mandated requirements, and monitoring program components. Serves on appropriate district screening committees. Assists HR department leadership in ensuring employees are provided with timely and correct information regarding certification options. Acts in a professional and ethical manner and adheres to professional standards at all times. Maintains confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters in accordance with state and federal law. Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for improvement in areas of responsibility. Responds to inquiries and requests in a timely and positive manner. Maintains and submits required reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner. Properly cares for equipment and material resources of the school system and effectively supervises and monitors students in the care, maintenance, and use of tools, equipment, and inventory. Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local laws. Performs any additional job duties and responsibilities required for this position. Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s).
