Work Schedule: 100%, day shift working 4-10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday with future weekend coverage. You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI. As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients. We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant to: Provide advanced inpatient cardiac care for cardiac surgery patients Provide advanced inpatient care for cardiothoracic transplant patients Preop orders and postoperative for heart and lung transplant patients Participation in Heart Failure/Shock team protocols Support surgical elements of the lung and heart transplant programs (which works closely with the Advanced Pulmonary/ECMO program, Heart Failure/MCS programs) Support ECMO specialists, VAD specialists Participation in daily rounding, multidisciplinary rounds, review for appropriate billing Clinical Management of Advanced Therapies- Impella, ECMO, LVAD Complex wound management, chest tubes, pacing wires, sternal closure monitoring, participation in bedside procedures Work at an ECMO Center of Excellence and Level 1 Trauma Center. Outpatient participation for patient work-up and continuity of care Preoperative evaluation for heart and lung transplant patients including VAD and transplant candidacy Participate in transplant selection conference Coordinate care from inpatient to outpatient transplant clinic Education: If Nurse Practitioner: Master's or Doctorate's degree from accredited Nursing Program. If Physician Assistant: Bachelor's or Master's degree from accredited PA Program. Licenses and Certifications: Minimum - If Nurse Practitioner: Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice.
