Job Family Management Consulting, Power Systems Engineering Consulting Travel Required Up to 10% Clearance Required None We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced professional to join our Energy Providers West Market team to support energy, sustainability, and infrastructure related engagements. We partner with our commercial energy clients to design and deliver transformational programs, evaluate and optimize program contributions towards climate, energy, reliability, resilience, and continuously improve our client's experience. What You Will Do As a Managing Consultant or Associate Director, you will function as a technical project manager for a diverse portfolio of energy projects, you would work directly with our Arizona Account Director to serve energy clients in Arizona and the Southwest. Projects will range from major capital infrastructure, energy system related projects, and a range of client internal projects within the desert southwest region. You would be joining a team that is passionate about delivering programs and innovation to solve our client's most pressing problems. The Managing Consultant/Associate Director role requires an initiative-taking, driven professional with strong business acumen, a proven track record of success in leading project and program delivery teams, professional services experience, a solid understanding of utility business operations, and passion for execution and delivery excellence. As a key member of the Energy Providers project team, you will be responsible for managing teams that deliver strategic advisory, engineering studies, financial management, compliance and monitoring, technology transformation, data analytics, and risk management consulting engagements, with a primary focus on decarbonization, sustainability, electrification, grid transformation and energy transition for electric and gas utilities. In addition, you will work with client stakeholders to assess project performance, identify and manage risks and issues, keeping clients informed and proactively managing expectations. Responsibilities:Managing and mentoring project teams and coordinating projects and workstreamsManaging, monitoring and evaluating project activities and evaluating overall project(s) performanceContributing to project planning, budgeting, and overall strategyPreparing, reviewing, and maintaining project documentation and reportsMaintaining project contracts and financialsEstablishing and reporting on key performance indicatorsAnalyzing project data and producing insights to optimize performanceIdentifying problems and shortfalls and proposing solutionsProviding operational support such as liaising with stakeholders, tracking timelines, etc.Support the development and rollout of our project management methodology, being a coach and change agent to encourage adoptionCoordinating with client account and project teams to develop innovate solutions to address client priorities and needsSupporting growth and client satisfaction within client account teams What You Will NeedMust be a US Citizen or a US Permanent Resident due to nature of client engagementsWork experience in Banking, Construction, Pharma, Manufacturing, Financial Services, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Defense or Aerospace does NOT count towards years of experience requirementManaging ConsultantBachelor's degree in business, engineering, economics, finance, public policy and/or related discipline AND FIVE (5+) plus years' post-graduation project management experience in the energy/utilities sectorAssociate DirectorBachelor's degree in business, engineering, economics, finance, public policy and/or related discipline AND SEVEN (7+) plus years' post-graduation project management experience in the energy sectorKnowledgeable in all phases of the capital projects and project management life cycle beyond IT project managementOutstanding analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience with stakeholder and financial managementExcellent at visualizing project and program data, synthesizing insights, and making data informed decisionsAbility to assume ownership of significant portions of tasks while collaborating with a close-knit teamAbility to manage several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlinesDemonstrated attention to detailStrong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal skillsAn inquisitive nature and desire for continuous improvementExcellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills with high degree of self-confidence and determinationAbility to travelAbility to work onsite at Client Office location(s)Must currently reside or ability to self-relocate to Phoenix, AZ What Would Be Nice To HavePreference will be given to candidates within 50 miles of Client Office location in Phoenix, AZMaster's degree in electrical or power systems engineering, business administration, or related disciplinePMP CertificationPost-graduation experience with project management and operations in the energy/utilities sector that includes capital projects and large engineering projectsAdvanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite products (Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint)Experience developing and delivering presentations to clients or executive audiences LI-DNI What We Offer Guidehouse offers a comprehensive, total rewards package that includes competitive compensation and a flexible benefits package that reflects our commitment to creating a diverse and supportive workplace.
