Job Description

Fuels Management Specialist Serves as the principal point of contact and liaison for activities related to coordinating, scheduling, directing, and controlling all fuel and cryogenics operations to support mission requirements. Maintains fuel accounts according to applicable directives. Assists customers, storage depots and other organizations. Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets. Safeguards materials, items and equipment for assigned area and adheres to security procedures and regulations to properly safeguard materials. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest. May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignment. Maintain qualification on emergency generators. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions. Must maintain all training requirements specific to this position. Must have sight, and normal color vision, hearing, and reflexes. The work will require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license will be required for the position. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. cont Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, 2005 series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes thorough knowledge of Fuels Management and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Energy governing guidance (ex.DLA Energy Procedural Guidance ("P" documents), DLA Energy Interim Policy ("I" documents), DoDI 4140.25, etc.), regulations, procedures, policies, and instructions. Thorough knowledge of fuels automation software, tools, and devices along with standard office equipment such as computers, copies, fax machines, and office automation systems and platforms to perform substantial range of office automation support. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
