Traffic Manager Location: Wixom, Michigan (100% On-Site) Reports to: General Manager Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift (6:307:00 a.m. start) Compensation: $60,000$80,000 + Annual Discretionary Bonus About the Company Our client is one of North Americas fastest-growing privately held contract manufacturers of household cleaning and personal care products. Supplying major retailers and club chains across the U.S. and Canada, the company operates multiple facilities, including FDA-regulated sites, and is positioned for significant expansion in the coming years. This is a high-visibility role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment where precision, accountability, and retail compliance are critical. Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Traffic Manager with deep expertise in retail shipping lanes, appointment scheduling, and large-chain customer compliance. This role is responsible for managing 3040 daily inbound and outbound loads while ensuring strict adherence to Must Arrive By Date (MABD) requirements for major retailers and club store customers.The ideal candidate understands the complexity of retailer routing guides, ASN accuracy, cross-border documentation, and appointment scheduling across multiple distribution centers. This is not a dock-only role it requires strategic coordination, retail portal expertise, and the ability to proactively prevent costly chargebacks and delivery failures. Key Responsibilities Retail & Customer Compliance Manage and optimize shipping lanes to major U.S. and Canadian retailers. Schedule and confirm delivery appointments through customer portals. Ensure strict adherence to MABD (Must Arrive By Date) requirements. Submit accurate ASNs and maintain retailer portal compliance. Interpret and execute retailer routing guides without error. Proactively prevent late deliveries, reschedules, and retailer chargebacks. Freight & Carrier Management Coordinate 3040 daily inbound and outbound shipments. Work closely with third-party carriers and brokers. Adjust load plans in real time based on production and carrier constraints. Serve as primary escalation point for freight and delivery issues. Monitor transit performance to ensure on-time, in-full execution. Cross-Border & Documentation Prepare and validate all Bills of Lading, packing lists, and commercial invoices. Manage U.S./Canada customs documentation (including USMCA compliance). Ensure 100% documentation accuracy before shipment release. Maintain shipment records and close loads in ERP (Magic or similar). Team & Operational Leadership Lead and develop a dock team of 34 employees. Conduct daily yard audits to ensure trailer and dock flow efficiency. Align daily with production and planning teams to prioritize outbound loads. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized dock operation. Required Qualifications 510+ years of traffic/logistics leadership experience in manufacturing, CPG, 3PL, or retail distribution. Proven experience shipping to large national retailers and club stores. Strong working knowledge of retailer portals and ASN submission. Direct experience managing MABD compliance. Experience coordinating third-party carriers and brokers. High-volume shipping experience (2050 loads/day). Cross-border shipping knowledge (U.S./Canada). ERP proficiency (SAP, Oracle, Magic, etc.). Calm, decisive problem-solver who performs well under pressure. Preferred Background CPG or contract manufacturing. Retail distribution or vendor-side retail compliance. Experience managing chargeback reduction initiatives. What Success Looks Like Zero missed MABD deliveries. Clean ASN submissions and retailer portal compliance.
