Opened in 1954 and designed by Morris Lapidus, it was the most luxurious hotel on Miami Beach, and is thought to be the most significant building of Lapidus' career. Responsibilities The Convention Services Coordinator performs a wide variety of administrative and secretarial tasks, as well as selling and servicing Convention events. Examples of duties include but are not limited to the following: Administrative support including: answering phones, taking catering inquiries, assisting Convention Services managers. Administrative coordinator and liaison for the catering department. Sell and contract all events for (25) people or less. Service all sold events. Work with Banquets and Conference Concierge executing events. Organize and maintain the departmental filing system. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Exceptional customer service skills, superior interpersonal skills with an acute sense of detail. Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff. Minimum of two years convention services and or hotel operations experience. Five (5) years experience as an administrative assistant or office administrator with increasing responsibilities in a high volume environment. Hotel knowledge preferred. High school education or equivalent. College degree preferred.
