Hiring DepartmentCenter for Character & CitizenshipJob DescriptionWe are seeking an individual who will orchestrate the smooth operation of the Center for Character and Citizenship (CCC), assuring that grant and faculty objectives are met or exceeded. Key responsibilities are to:Oversee logistics of CCC program events such as the Character Education-focused Educational Leader (CEEL), PRIMED Institute for Character Education, Sue Shear Leadership Academy and Citizenship Education programs with collaborators. Document, maintain and improve processes to meet or exceed participant expectations regarding logistics. Communicate event logistics and update the CCC team.Support the Teresa M. Fischer Professor of Citizenship Education and grant projects using organizational systems to maintain and improve tracking multiple projects and databases. The data bases include PeopleSoft ordering/accounting systems, resource library, subscription databases, and alumni. The projects include a Kern Family Foundation ongoing grant, a Templeton World Charity Foundation grant and CCC research publications. Review activities weekly and organize documentation on OneDrive for CCC achievements.Compiling team meeting agendas and track projects to address the Director's priorities, setting time-appropriate goals and using assuring that team members have the tools they need to achieve desired results. Utilize student workers and help them build useful skills which assist project completion and the CCC's goals. Track that the team is meeting goals.Assist the Director as needed with student communication.Note needed updates for the UMSL CCC website and support the team in completing updates. Keep Director aware of upcoming UMSL events which should be considered for the calendar.Implement technical needs such as moving files from Google to Teams, scanning paper files to electronic files, etc.Communicate using technology and traditional means with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish objectives while impacting the CCC's national and international reputation positively.Stakeholders not only include faculty, staff, students and operations departments but also the public at large, school districts, collaborators, program speakers and visiting international scholars.Recommend improvements for organizational efficiency within UM System guidelines (i.e., travel protocols, resource management, etc.) such as maintaining files, recording and tracking.Organize and simplify the move from the current space to North Campus targeted for December 2026.Monitor the Director's schedule to complete travel notifications and for receipts to be reconciled on the university credit card. Collaborate with COE Procurement to order supplies and log deliveries.Assist the CCC's finance and Human Resources support needs to quickly complete program or project duties.Employ professional courtesy and confidentiality with internal and external audiences.Shift8am-5pm, Monday thru Friday; Occasional Saturdays (no more than 6)Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessaryPreferred QualificationsUMSL or K-12 administrative experience.Armed Services veterans are encouraged to apply.Anticipated Hiring RangeSalary Range: $23 per hourGrade: GGS-008University Title: Office Support AssociateInternal applicants can determine their University title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.Application MaterialsApplication materials include a cover letter and resume.
