American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Madison, Wisconsin. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/06/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position in Madison, WI, requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU III/IV experience and Epic proficiency. Responsibilities 26-bed NICU within a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center that is also a Magnet®-designated facility Level IV NICU caring for critically ill newborns and infants with a wide range of medical and surgical complexities Patient population includes post-op patients and infants requiring advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services, including g-tubes, trach/vent management, and various modes of invasive and noninvasive ventilation Day and night 12-hour shifts available: 7:00am–7:30pm and 7:00pm–7:30am Schedule runs Monday through Friday with 2–3 required weekends per 6-week scheduling period Epic EMR required, preferably with experience within the last 12 months Travelers are the first to float and may be scheduled in multiple units or locations within the organization based on staffing needs Provide comprehensive care for critically ill newborns and infants and their families across the continuum of care, from admission to discharge The unit operates as a model for patient- and family-centered care Candidates must pass a telemetry test prior to being cleared to start The facility is home to a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center On-site parking requires a permit through UW Transportation; alternative options include bus, park & ride, and private parking Requirements Active WI RN license or compact RN license from permanent state of residence Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only NRP certification required Minimum of 2 years of total NICU Level III/IV experience, with at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU (Level III and IV experience may be combined to meet the 2-year total) Experience with post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and various modes of invasive and noninvasive ventilation required Basic Arrhythmia (telemetry) experience required Epic EMR experience required Permanent address must be located at least 50 miles from the primary work site to be eligible for this position Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-679723.
