Join a dedicated healthcare team as an Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Intensive Care Unit during night shifts. In this role, you will provide compassionate care to patients under the guidance of physicians and nursing staff, supporting individuals from newborns to the elderly. Essential Responsibilities: Accurately complete documentation in a timely manner following organizational policies. Demonstrate proficiency in unit-specific competencies, policies, and procedures to deliver quality patient care. Uphold patient privacy and security standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain professional communication and collaborative relationships with patients, families, healthcare team members, and external partners. Perform additional duties as assigned to support unit operations. Education and Experience: Certification as a Medical Assistant (MA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Home Health Aide (HHA) is required, including equivalent experience such as early nursing school coursework. Licenses and Certifications: Current BLS/CPR certification from an approved provider must be obtained within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation. Completion of on-the-job training in sterile technique, sterile field maintenance, instrument care, EKG, and phlebotomy is required. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a medical environment and certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) through ASCP are advantageous. Skills and Abilities: Basic to moderate computer skills, including familiarity with telesitter technology. Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential. A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care is highly valued. Physical Requirements: This position involves very heavy work, occasionally lifting over 100 pounds and frequently lifting up to 50 pounds. Expect to spend 75-100% of the shift standing or walking.
