MANAGER OF STRATEGIC CHANGE ENABLEMENT WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The Strategic Change Enablement Manager plays a vital role in enhancing organizational change management capabilities across the enterprise. This position involves designing effective change enablement tools and resources for a diverse team of Change Owners, project managers, and leaders, establishing a robust Change Enablement Community of Practice at City National Bank. In collaboration with the Manager of Transformation & Culture and the Strategic Change Delivery Manager, this role promotes the value of organizational change and supports strategy implementation in compliance with effective controls and regulatory requirements. WHAT WILL YOU DO? Leadership and Development of the Enterprise Change Enablement Team Build and manage a high-performing team in a complex, technical environment, while effectively mitigating execution risks. Set individual performance goals, drive management processes, nurture career growth, and recognize outstanding contributions. Identify and communicate issues and opportunities from the Community of Practice (COP) and ECEA team as directed. Leadership of the Change Enablement & Adoption Community of Practice (COP) Enhance awareness and integration of ECEA practices, ensuring Organizational Change Management is ingrained in City National Bank's culture as a key competency. Develop and implement a communications strategy to promote the adoption of ECEA best practices and effective tool use. Act as a visible coach for executives and senior management, offering personalized coaching, training, and advisory services. Maintain and evolve ECEA tools and technologies based on industry best practices, facilitating continuous skill development. Create a collaborative community amongst ECEA Change Consultants and associated change enablement specialists for sharing successes and best practices while fostering problem-solving. Build strong partnerships with delivery teams, enhancing collaboration among leaders, change professionals, project managers, and stakeholders. Strategic Adoption of Change Enablement at City National Bank Drive the application of consistent change management processes across the organization, ensuring that all employees are equipped for leading change initiatives. Serve as an active coach to business partners, modeling change leadership and integration within the organization. Conduct reviews during the change intake process to assure confidence in ECEA scoring. Develop quality assurance protocols integrated into governance processes for ECEA tools. Create a competency model for a sustainable, skills-based ECEA Center of Excellence. Establish standardized change management tools and templates in collaboration with key organizational partners. Collaborate with relevant Royal Bank of Canada colleagues on best practices and tools for change enablement. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. 15+ years of relevant experience managing large-scale change initiatives characterized by high complexity and organizational impact. Extensive experience overseeing a portfolio of cross-enterprise programs, including those with third-party vendors and significant technical components. A minimum of 5 years in a consulting, project/program management, or dedicated change management role in organizational change leadership. 5+ years of managerial experience leading teams of five or more in a matrixed environment. Additional Qualifications 3+ years in a head of function or practice area lead role with performance management and budgeting responsibilities preferred. Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred. Professional certification (e.g., ACMP Certified Change Management Professional) preferred. Experience in the financial services sector is highly preferred. Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft 365 and SaaS-based change management platforms. Strong communication and presentation skills, particularly in engaging senior executives. Expertise in aligning change management practices with industry standards and audit requirements. Proven experience in long-term coaching and advising from an organizational change management perspective. Experience managing vendor relationships and contingent workforce strategies. Demonstrable skills in strategic influencing and effective communication. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Compensation Starting base salary: $127,626 - $237,014 annually, with variability based on skills, experience, and location. This position is also eligible for bonuses and commissions.
