Job Description: Position Details: Starting at $30.00 per hour base pay rate Early morning start Monday through Friday. Our delivery drivers ensure that customer products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition. They are the face of our company, building lasting relationships with customers! The CDL-A Driver is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products safely and timely, following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Primary Responsibilities: Communicates and interacts professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers ensuring questions are answered accurately and promptly. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duties assigned to best serve the company. Performs all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) and inspects tractor/truck and trailer to comply with DOT regulations; ensures they meet company safety standards. Reports all safety issues and required repairs. Adheres to all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies. Immediately reports all safety hazards and inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight. Performs count checks of items and verifies customer invoices of loaded products. Completes all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly. Moves tractor to the loading dock and attaches preloaded trailer as needed. Drives to and delivers customer orders according to a predetermined delivery schedule. Unloads products from the trailer and transports items to designated customer storage areas. Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contacts supervisor regarding order removals according to company policy. Verifies delivery of items with customers and obtains proper signatures. Collects payments (cash or checks) where necessary and loads customer returns onto the trailer, securing doors. Ensures tractor, trailer, and freight are secured at all times. Unloads damaged goods and customer returns, completing necessary paperwork. Completes daily record of hours of service in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements. Maintains cleanliness in the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers as required. At the end of the shift, secures all equipment and completes necessary paperwork. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent 12+ months of commercial driving experience Valid CDL-A Must be 21+ years of age Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable) Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check Pass a road test Attain or maintain a valid current DOT Health Card Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move and stack product cases/freight, typically ranging from 10-90 pounds depending on the location.
