Job Summary and Qualifications The Nurse Manager of NICU is responsible for all aspects of department functions in alignment with our mission, vision, values, and goals. You will exercise critical thinking in your decisions while adhering to the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Ensure patient safety within the NICU clinical environment. Utilize effective communication and information management skills in daily operations. Promote and uphold the ANA Standards of Care and Standards of Professional Practice. Serve as a liaison to cultivate a partnership with patients and their families. Facilitate continuity and coordination of care across various settings. Maintain high-quality, age, and developmentally appropriate care for neonates up to 2 years old. Initiate department-specific initiatives and process improvements within the NICU. Foster collaborative working relationships with all healthcare team members. Manage personnel, payroll, budgets, and develop business plans, while maintaining physician relationships. Act as a liaison with hospital, community, and other institutions. Organize and oversee both human and material resources effectively. Qualifications: Education/Experience: Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing. Current RN license from the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is essential; an advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of management experience in nursing, including personnel, payroll, budget management, and oversight of business planning and physician relations is preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in Texas or a compact license is mandatory. Current American Heart Association BLS provider certification is required. NRP certification is essential.
