Job Summary and Qualifications As a Medical Surgical Float Pool Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include conducting patient assessments, formulating and implementing care plans, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe and effective delivery of care. Create and adjust care plans based on patient responses and regularly assess their effectiveness. Engage with an interdisciplinary team to design and update care plans in line with patient needs and objectives. Administer medications and treatments as per hospital policy. Delegate appropriate tasks to non-licensed staff following established standards of practice. Provide pre- and post-operative patient care. Deliver educational materials to patients and their families regarding care and treatment. Collaborate on discharge planning with the care team. Requirements Experience At least 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN). Education Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. License and Certifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or a Compact Registered Nursing License (Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David's Healthcare policy. NIHSS certification is mandatory as per St. David's Healthcare policy. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is a plus.
