StaffBright is seeking a dynamic and experienced HSE Manager with a strong automotive manufacturing background to join a rapidly growing organization near Auburn Hills, MI. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role at a brand-new facility, helping shape safety culture, programs, and performance from the ground up.Our client is expanding operations and looking for a hands-on, highly motivated leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and has proven experience supporting greenfield launches and major facility expansions. This role offers high visibility, meaningful impact, and the chance to build and lead comprehensive health, safety, and environmental initiatives from day one.What You Will Be DoingPartner with operations, engineering, HR, and plant leadership to provide strategic and technical environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) guidance across corporate and production teams.Develop, implement, and continuously improve EH&S programs, policies, performance metrics, training initiatives (including new hire orientation), and companywide safety awareness efforts.Support new product launches and process changes by evaluating hazards, recommending engineering controls, selecting appropriate PPE, and establishing safe operating procedures.Ensure full compliance with federal and state EH&S regulations by monitoring regulatory changes, advising leadership, maintaining required documentation, and preparing compliance programs and reports.Conduct audits and analyze incident, safety, and workers' compensation data to identify trends and drive corrective and preventive actions.Lead investigations, inspections, and safety committee initiatives to support continuous improvement and risk reduction.Participate in executive safety leadership activities and maintain EH&S documentation systems, communications, and resource librariesWhat We Need From YouTo be considered for this role, candidates must have the following experience and skills:5+ years of experience in a Safety Engineer, HSE, or Safety Manager role within a manufacturing or assembly environment.Greenfield or brownfield facility experience (required - critical for success in this role).Strong working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations and industry standards.All-Star SkillsetThe ideal candidate will also have any or all of the following preferred experience and skills:Experience working with Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA).Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.The PerksRapidly expanding operation with strong growth and advancement potential.Entrepreneurial, high-visibility environment with significant autonomy and influence.Opportunity to build programs, shape culture, and make a measurable impact.Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.Direct-hire position.StaffBright - Who We AreStaffBright connects exceptional professionals with fulfilling opportunities in Finance, IT, Engineering, and Sales and Marketing.
