Requisition ID: # 170598 Job Category: Project / Program Management Job Level: Supervisor Business Unit: Energy Delivery Work Type: Hybrid Position Summary We are seeking an experienced supervisor to lead a dedicated team of Project Controls Analysts in managing major Electric Transmission and Distribution projects across Northern California. You will play a crucial role in overseeing a project portfolio valued between $120 million and $250 million annually. Reporting to the Major Projects Central Coast & Bay Area Transmission & Substation Project Controls Manager, this position offers flexibility in location, primarily headquartered in Oakland. Your exceptional leadership and technical capabilities will be essential in driving our vision of becoming the premier project management organization in the utility sector. Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a comparable field. 6 years of relevant experience in electric utility Project Management or 3 years in Program Management/Project Management/Controls and Supervisory roles. Project Management Professional Certification (PMP). Desired: Prior supervisory experience, ideally in Project Controls or Project Management. Strong leadership and analytical abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in project controls processes, capable of training others. Advanced skills in MS Excel, SAP, and Primavera P6. Proven ability to motivate, develop, and guide teams. Focus on customer service and employee engagement. Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities. Experience in contract negotiation and management for engineering, procurement, construction, and professional services. Knowledge of electric transmission/distribution substation and transmission systems. PMP certification from PMI. Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification. Familiarity with the Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) Union Contract. Responsibilities Embody PG&E Values and drive cultural change through effective communication and actions. Supervise a team of approximately ten ESC Project Controls Analysts and contractors. Manage staff effectively through recruitment, training, performance management, coaching, and recognition. Ensure projects are safely designed, constructed on time, within budget, and compliant with regulations. Maintain accuracy in the forecasting of project costs aligned with annual and project budgets. Identify and resolve project issues promptly to secure adherence to cost, scope, and schedule commitments. Conduct project site visits as necessary. Collaborate with Project Management to understand project scopes and allocate Project Controls Analysts fittingly based on their skills. Coach and develop Project Controls Analysts to enhance project management capabilities and ensure consistency. Establish performance expectations and metrics for Project Controls Analysts. Foster a strong, engaged team environment. Respond to data requests promptly and thoroughly. Collaborate with supervisors across various groups to optimize operations and processes. Contribute to special assignments aimed at enhancing group performance and support Electric Operations initiatives.
