Inventory and Logistics Specialist

General Summary: As an Inventory and Logistics Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient vehicle management and exceptional customer service at CarMax. Your responsibilities will include vehicle receiving and shipping, maintaining accurate inventory records, and contributing to a clean and organized lot environment. Key Responsibilities: Follow standardized work instructions and processes for effective execution. Engage in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives with your team. Assist in training new associates while collaborating with experienced Inventory Associates and Managers. Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. Ensure lot maintenance and security of display and work-in-progress areas. Secure and receive vehicles shipped to CarMax and prepare vehicle and title packets for shipping to other locations. Accurately scan vehicles to maintain honest product status records. Perform thorough washes and vacuuming for customer returns and loaner vehicles. Drive vehicles on and off the lot safely for storage and repairs. Maintain cleanliness and organization in line with CarMax 5S standards. Complete additional tasks as assigned by senior Inventory Associates and Managers. Minimum Qualifications: Current driver’s license that meets CarMax standards. Able to read, interpret, and maintain accurate records. High school diploma or equivalent work experience is preferred. Capability to complete required workstation certifications and training. Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. Working Conditions: This position involves both indoor and outdoor environments, including the possibility of working in noisy or inclement weather. Flexible working hours are necessary; shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Expect to walk or stand for extended periods in a fast-paced setting while wearing CarMax uniforms at all times.
