Back Business Ethics and Compliance Associate II #26-73536 Houston, Texas, United States Apply X Facebook LinkedIn Email Copy Job Description Primary Purpose Contributes to ethics and compliance operations by managing intake processes, preparing reports, and coordinating training logistics. Applies established procedures to resolve routine issues and maintain data integrity within compliance systems. This position supports adherence to policies, laws, and regulations by assessing internal controls, monitoring activities, aiding risk reviews, and helping develop compliance programs. They also manage ethics policies, monitor conduct, investigate unethical behavior, and implement safeguards to prevent future violations. Description Designs, develops, implements and promotes awareness of the organization's business ethics policies. Monitors the organization's standards of conduct and ethical relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, employees and the communities in which business is conducted. Investigates allegations of unethical activity and develops safeguards to eliminate future breaches of the organization's ethics policies. Duties and Responsibilities Supports investigations by collecting and reviewing relevant documents and data using established procedures. Conducts intake and triage for ethics-related inquiries, ensuring accurate categorization and timely escalation. Prepares summaries and drafts investigation reports for review, applying sound judgment to straightforward cases. Monitors case progress and updates the case management system to maintain accurate records. Communicates moderately complex information to stakeholders in a clear and professional manner. Assists in developing compliance training materials by incorporating lessons learned from recent cases. Collaborates with team members and other departments to ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. Performs other duties as assigned. Supplemental Responsibilities Serves as a business partner to business units. Develops, implements, and continually improves compliance and ethics policies, procedures, guidance, practices, awareness initiatives, and communications. Ensures organizational practices remain current and compliant by monitoring industry standards and regulatory updates. Supports the day-to-day operations of all elements of the ethics and compliance program. Qualifications Education Typically requires a 4-year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting / Audit and/or Law is preferred. Experience Typically requires 2 years of related experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ethical Decision-Making - The ability to evaluate situations and make decisions based on ethical principles and values, ensuring actions align with organizational and societal norms. Regulatory Knowledge - Understanding and staying up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards that govern business operations, ensuring compliance. Policy Development and Implementation - The ability to develop, communicate, and enforce policies that promote ethical behavior and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Training and Education - Proficiency in designing and delivering training programs that educate employees on ethical standards, compliance requirements, and best practices. Monitoring and Auditing - The capability to establish and maintain systems for monitoring compliance, conducting audits to identify gaps and areas for improvement. Conflict Resolution - The skill to mediate and resolve conflicts related to ethical dilemmas or compliance issues, fostering transparency and accountability. Stakeholder Communication - The ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders about compliance initiatives, ethical standards, and organizational values. Cultural Competence - Understanding and respecting diverse cultural perspectives in ethics and compliance, ensuring inclusive and culturally sensitive practices. Data Privacy and Protection - Knowledge of data protection laws and practices, ensuring the organization handles personal information ethically and in compliance with regulations. Building Relationships and Influence - Partners effectively with diverse internal stakeholders-including HR, IT, Supply Chain, and business teams-to cultivate positive and productive working relationships. Work Schedule HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 4 days per week onsite.
