Maintenance Mechanic III (Journeyman Plumber Experience) Start time is flexible between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. for 8-hour shifts. Join our dedicated team at Good Samaritan Hospital, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the maintenance and repair of our hospital buildings, facilities, and equipment. This position requires expert-level plumbing skills along with a working knowledge of other building trades. Your responsibilities will include: Providing technical guidance to helpers, workers, and mechanics during maintenance operations. Assisting the Supervisor in identifying optimal maintenance methods and system operations. Working independently with minimal supervision while determining maintenance needs and responding appropriately. A strong customer service orientation is essential for success in this role. Minimum Job Requirements: Associate's Degree (Required) 3 - 4 years of experience in a related field (Required) Mechanical/electrical background with familiarity in repair and maintenance tools and terms Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals Equivalent relevant experience is acceptable in lieu of minimum education. Job Overview: You will be responsible for the expert maintenance and upkeep of hospital buildings, facilities, and equipment. Your proficiency in one trade, particularly plumbing, combined with reasonable skills in other trades, will enable you to effectively assist in operational needs. You will also provide technical direction and advice, maintaining an organized workspace and adhering to safety protocols. Job Responsibilities: Complete and submit paperwork associated with work orders on time, including incident reports and maintenance logs. Efficiently manage work orders, both scheduled and unscheduled, within specified time constraints. Maintain a neat and organized work area, ensuring proper inventory of necessary parts. Utilize appropriate techniques and personal protective equipment to perform work safely and effectively. Apply your technical skills to fulfill work requests comprehensively and responsibly. Working Conditions: This position involves activities such as bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), pushing and pulling, and requires frequent interaction and communication.
