We hold multiple team and company-wide offsite meetings each year to strengthen connections and align our goals. Your participation in these events is essential and fully supported. The Trade Surveillance Specialist will oversee trade surveillance activities for Coinbase continuously. This role involves monitoring markets, investigating suspicious trading behaviors, and utilizing various surveillance technologies, ensuring Coinbase remains the most trusted platform in the industry. Key Responsibilities: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring of trade surveillance and create necessary surveillance reports. Review and investigate alerts generated by surveillance systems and escalate appropriately. Support new asset launches by analyzing market depth and liquidity in comparison to other assets and exchanges; conducting market assessments for new asset launches and relaunches following trade halts. Contribute to various Compliance tasks as necessary. Stay informed about regulatory and market structure changes that may affect markets and the surveillance program. Collaborate with engineering and support staff to enhance process efficiencies and improvements. Implement and improve policies and procedures related to Coinbase Trading operations and Trading Rules. Engage with Coinbase personnel regarding Trading Policies. Work with key compliance personnel and various Coinbase business areas on compliance investigations. Assist with ad-hoc inquiries, special projects, or regulatory requests. Qualifications: At least 2 years of relevant experience in market surveillance or a trading capacity. Strong understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines. Excellent analytical and critical reasoning abilities, quick to learn, and aligned with Coinbase values. Knowledge of market structure. Experience creating and managing policies and procedures, with cross-functional experience. Experience using AI tools for research, problem-solving, and optimizing workflows. Act like an owner by managing projects and seeking continuous improvement. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with blockchain, cryptocurrency ecosystems, and DeFi. Possession of FINRA Series or other relevant certifications. Knowledge of additional Compliance functions (e.g., AML, Employee Control Room Compliance). Ability to query and manage data (e.g., SQL). Job #: P76168 Pay Transparency Notice: The target annual base salary for this position varies based on work location and is in the range of $108,630 to $127,800 USD. Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility along with benefits (medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
