Senior International Program ManagerNeuro-Memory and Aging Full Time 88221BR Job Summary The Senior International Program Manager provides supervision for a team that coordinates administrative and program management for a large and growing research program within the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI). This team provides administrative oversight for international studies performed in partnership with investigators and institutions primarily located in Latin America and Africa, developing protocols, providing budget preparation guidance, preparing subcontract requests, reviewing invoices, as well as supporting progress reporting. They oversee and provide program management support for large research collaborations, coordinating multi-national research committees and in-person meetings of researchers. They assists the investigators with development of new grant proposals, including liaising with UCSF's pre-award team, preparing budgets and budget justifications, managing submission timelines, and preparing IRB and administrative documents for grant submissions. They also support operational activities of the GBHI academic program, including overseeing large international meetings, local events and administrative initiatives. The Program Manager works in a mission-driven work environment and is adept at managing multiple competing priorities. Written and spoken Spanish language skills are required. International travel is expected. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $110,400 - $235,400 (Annual Rate). GBHI's unique Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health training program is a 12 month fellowship where trainees come from a wide range of inter-professional backgrounds including doctors, lawyers, writers, artists, caregivers and policy-makers. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related area and minimum five years of experience including three in a supervisory role or equivalent experience / training. Demonstrated experience supervising staff and students in an academic or research setting. Academic background or experience in relevant area of research. Ability to build relationships, collaborate and problem solve both internally and with external organizations. Demonstrated knowledge of grant proposal development and administration. Demonstrated leadership skills including effective communication, negotiation, coaching, and conflict resolution. Advanced oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders Knowledge of human resources management practices and policies. Knowledge of financial principles and budget practices. Demonstrated knowledge university, state, and federal policies that influence research operations. Experience with relevant programs including: eRA Commons, CACTAS, BearBuy Written and spoken Spanish language skills. Willingness to travel internationally under short notice. Preferred Qualifications Terminal degree in a related area (PhD, JD, MD, etc.) and / or equivalent experience / training required.
